Shape Laser

$ Store Activity Name:   Laser Shape Expansion
Concepts / Skills addressed:   measurement, ratio and proportion
Approximate Grade Range:   6th - 10th ?
Materials:   Laser pointer with various shape projector heads (These are screw-on tops that transform the point of light normally projected by the laser pointer into shapes)
The General Idea:   Using laser pointers with interchangeable shape-making heads, students experiment with the relationship between the size of the image and the distance between the laser and the image. 
Caution
!  Never let students get into a situation where they might point the laser into the eyes of anyone else as this can cause injury. 
Extensions: 
If the laser image could travel all the way to the moon, would the moon be a big enough screen to hold the entire image?
