The world today has become progressively integrated, and it is unlikely that any business or individual is unaffected by international economic events in one part of the world. Vietnam is one of the fastest growing countries in Asia, second only to China. Vietnam was recently joined the WTO in November 2006, which would make it easier for multinational corporations to do business in Vietnam, a market of 84 million. Our purpose is to apply international economics, marketing, and business theories to the real world cases by visiting a number of businesses and agencies – domestic and foreign – in Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. Some lectures will be taught by the faculty at the Hanoi School of Business and guest speakers on the areas of their expertise. In addition, we will also be able to absorb and understand more about the Vietnamese culture though our excursions outside Hanoi.
